Writer's Block: Fairytale Endings

My fairytale ending is getting married to the love of my life and having children with him. My dad walking me down the aisle and my mom being there for the birth of my children. I want true love, happiness, enough money to travel and do fun things with my family, and my parents and siblings around my children so they feel as loved as I did growing up.
What is your version of happily ever after?

Writer's Block: Live action hero

Which is your favorite or least favorite comic book-turned-movie?

I am a long time comic book fan. X-men was always my favorite with Batman a close second and in close running were Superman, Spiderman, Iron Man, The Avengers, Green Arrow, Green Lantern etc. As I have gotten older I have grown to love many more Marvel and DC comics. But some of the movies do NOT do the comics justice. I'd have to say that the X-men trilogy was not nearly as good as it could have been. I LOVE Hugh Jackman as Wolverine, but thats about it. I was so pissed that they decided to go with an alternate universe approach instead of the main universe. Anna Pacquin as Rogue was a HORRIBLE casting choice and I have nothing against her as an actress, she just couldn't embody rogue for me. They didn't even introduce Gambit until they did the Wolverine movie. WTF is that? They just didn't do this excellent comic series justice. I was more impressed with X-Men: First Class. But they still should have used the original 5 X-men instead of a bunch of random characters. Although I did enjoy Banshee getting screen time.

Another one would ahve to be the Spiderman trilogy. First off, you DO NOT cast Kirsten Dunst as Mary Jane Parker. That was another horrible call by the casting director. Tobey McGuire wasn't horrible, but he just wasn't Peter Parker for me. From the moment they casted him, I just wasn't convinced. The story lines weren't all that great either, although, they weren't horrible.

Next I would have to go with Superman returns. Brandon Routh had a good look for superman, but for f*ck's sake...Kate Bosworth as Lois Lane? Really?! I just wans't impressed with this movie at all.

GI Joe: Rise of Cobra. G.I. Joe was a comic before it was a cartoon. They just f*cked up that storyline every which way! The whole backstory for Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow was way off. Scarlett and Snake Eyes had a relationship, Ripcord wasn't even a major character and wtf was going on with Cobra? At least they gave Destro the silver mask at the end, even though it is apparently attached to his face.

Batman Forever/Batman and Robin. UGG. I actually really enjoyed Tim burton's take on Batman/Batman Returns with Michael Keaton. I loved Michelle Pfieffer as catwoman. But the moment Val Kilmer took over Batman and then George Clooney took it from him, they became ridiculously campy and not very entertaining at all. And I really like Val Kilmer as an actor. Nicole Kidman's character was just trying to sex Batman up the entire time. It was tiresome. The acting in Batman and Robin just wasn't up to par. I like Chris O'Donnel, but again, not so sure he was a good choice for Robin and Alicia Silverstone as Batgirl? NO.

So for the most part, these movies weren't that great for me because of a combination of casting/storyline. I could probably name a few more, but I think I'll stop with these. I get that comic movies aren't made to win Oscars, but the writers really need to consider what the fans want. And the majority of the fans that go to see these movies are fans of the comics or hell even the animated tv shows- so write scripts that are going to cater to those fans!

Writer's Block: Time to move on

If you had to relocate to another city, what would you miss most about the place you're leaving behind.

My family and great friends.

Writer's Block: Over the top

Who would you consider the most overrated musician, and why?

Lady Gaga. sure the songs are catchy, but they don't really say anything. Her antics are just plain annoying. We get it googoo...you are your "own" person, you can put away the meat suits now. Beyonce annoys the crap out of me too. I am not a talyor swift fan either- but at least she seems to put heart into her songs. And Bieber...HELL NO. I'm sure the kid is nice enough, but what will happen to that voice when he finally hits puberty?

IMHO most music today is superficial. it doesn't have any real meaning behind it. Classic rock, oldies and the blues- those bands/songs had meaning and if they didn't they made up for it by making some kick ass music! Music has recently gone down hill in a major way.

Writer's Block: The winning ticket

What would be your first purchase if you won the lottery?

The first thing I would do with the money is pay off my parent's debts. They have done so much for me over the course of my life and the least I could do is help them out the way they have helped me out. I love my parents and want them to be happy and free from house payments and car payments and whatever other bills.

Writer's Block: Free your mind

Do you believe society will ever truly overcome racism?

Sadly no, there are still too many ignorant and hateful people in the world. As long as there is good there will be evil.

Writer's Block: Dynamite with a laserbeam

Is there a specific song or band that makes you yearn for the past?

I pretty much only listen to Classic Rock. I was raised on it. I have often wished I had been alive in the 60's so I could see the Beatles. I also wish I had had the chance to see Jimi Hendrix, The Doors, and Boston. Obviously Boston, Queen, and various members of the doors are still around but seeing Boston without Brad Delp or Queen with Freddie Mercury just wouldn't be the same (obviously). Also, listening to certain songs, such as Scarborough fair- makes me want to read up on Medieval times or other historically significant times represented in songs. Scarborough fair isn't exactly about Medieval times but the way the music sounds reminds me of something that would have been played back then....make sense?

Writer's Block: Acquired taste

What is your favorite weird food combination? Have your friends ever tried it or do you only eat it in private?

I like to dip toasted cheese sandwichs in applesauce. My friends weren't brave enough to try it! :)

Writer's Block: Would you want a do-over?

Given the choice, would you start this day over again? How about this month or this year?
There are so many things I'd like to do over. I think I would have to go farther back then a year to do that though. :P

Writer's Block: Unlikely Benefactor

Congratulations! You won a million dollars but you have to give it all away. How will you distribute the money?
